The UAE government has been able to support education in advanced technical fields through a series of pioneering initiatives, most notably the ‘Smart Learning Initiative’ launched by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at an estimated cost of nearly Dh1 billion.
